Thirty-three years ago, I was a college student pursuing a double associates degree in Legal Secretary and Office Administration. I was thriving academically when life threw me a curveball: my mom suffered a devastating accident at work that crushed her fingers in a machine. I made the difficult decision to leave school and become her caregiver.

That setback became my breakthrough. I landed a position as a Legal Secretary for a sole practitioner who changed everything for me. She didn't just give me a job—she gave me a masterclass in running a successful law firm. While my classmates were still studying theory, I was living it: client intake, document preparation, records management, client billing, overseeing the court and client calendar, managing supplies, handling payroll, and coordinating case management. The hands-on experience I gained was worth more than any textbook could teach.

As our firm flourished, she hired an associate, and I seamlessly adapted to supporting multiple attorneys. From there, my career soared. I moved through firms of all sizes, mastering every role imaginable: receptionist, legal secretary, paralegal, office manager, payroll specialist, accounts payable and receivable coordinator, team leader, director, and eventually the go-to trainer for our entire legal team.

Along the way, I became an expert across multiple practice areas—real estate, bankruptcy, estate planning, personal injury, criminal law, workers' compensation, and probate and trust administration. Each challenge made me stronger, each role taught me something invaluable, and each step built the foundation for the next level of success.
